Our presenter will be Amy Showalter of the Showalter Group. She recently published an article in MANA’s Agency Sales Magazine titled, “ Engaging The UNDERDOG EDGE for Persuasion Success”. She will discuss the power of the Underdog Edge, and how to engage the edge to position your organization for influence success. You will learn about the underdog edge key behaviors, and tips on how to develop those behaviors.

Amy Showalter is a grassroots persuasion pioneer. She has drawn on over twenty years of experience teaching organizations how to get powerful people on their side, as well as over 10 national research projects with thousands of underdog influencers. Not content with only one side of the story, she also has interviewed the high-powered people whose minds were changed by an “ordinary” person. You’ll learn upward influence behaviors deployed by successful underdog persuaders and how you can foster those behaviors in yourself, your stakeholders, and your organization’s culture.

The problem with conflict is not that there is too much of it, but, perhaps surprisingly, that there is not enough of it. In all human relationships, conflict inevitably arises and disagreements risk being avoided. The danger is that resentment builds. Disagreements first avoided and then confronted are often dealt with in damaging ways.

How can we deal with conflict effectively and in a way that will enhance our relationships and improve the outcomes for ourselves, our colleagues, our clients and our families? Conflict left unrecognized and unmanaged can otherwise sabotage our work and our relationships.

Our presenter, Maury White, Certified Family Law Specialist/Mediator is an experienced family law mediator and an Ohio State Bar Association certified family relations law specialist. He has contributed a chapter to the new book, Understanding Collaborative Family Law: Leading Lawyers on Navigating the Collaborative Process, Working with Clients, and Analyzing the Latest Trends, published by Asptore Books. He will discuss with us:

The cost of conflict

Mapping conflict relationships

How we do what we do when we say the things we say

Attribution theory, the drama triangle and the games people play

How we sabotage ourselves in conflict

Join us for a short conversation about difficult conversations.

Did You Know…More than half of retired social security recipients leave benefits unclaimed due to application oversights. Discover how to increase your benefits by attending the February 10 luncheon. Our presenters, Jim Blair, former Social Security Administrator and Marc Kiner CPA, both with Premier Social Security Consulting, will cover eligibility, how benefits are calculated, spousal benefits, divorce situations, children benefits and surviving spouse benefits. They will also discuss social security basics and advanced planning strategies and review the 10 things you should know before you file.

As continued cutbacks are made to the Social Security program, the government is providing less support to applicants. They have in essence mandated that all applicants research their own options prior to applying. Representatives in local Social Security offices are no longer allowed to offer case-specific advice…leaving many applicants at risk for making costly errors on their application.

Premier Social Security Consulting is dedicated to helping you get the most from your social security retirement benefits. They offer one-on-one consultant sessions that advise you on the best options available when it comes to your unique Social Security situation. They help their clients increase their benefits an average of $150 per month for individuals and $800 per month for married couples.

Former Social Security Administrator, Jim Blair is the lead consultant in our Social Security Benefits department. Mr. Blair has over 35 years experience in helping individuals manage their Social Security benefits, and taking claims for retirement, survivors, disability and health insurance. Most notably, he has also served as an Operations Supervisor and a District Manager for the Piqua, Ohio Social Security Office.

His primary areas of service are to privately held businesses and individuals. He consults with clients on a variety of complex tax and business issues. Marc obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and Finance and a Masters Degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is licensed to practice as a CPA in the state of Ohio.

Let’s face it – time is the new currency. In today’s business, it is critical that you determine the very best use of your time and expertise each day. Planning each day by purposely deciding what you will achieve will go a long way in not only feeling fulfilled, but in keeping you from simply being a hamster on the wheel. Using systems for follow up and organization can greatly increase your success and effectiveness. The WORK SMART, Not Hard! Workshop will truly change your life. You will learn synergistic tools that when used together will streamline your work, increase productivity and dramatically reduce stress so the level of what you can achieve is infinite.

The WORK SMART, Not Hard! Workshop is based on a book written by Jane Schulte, Chief Operating Officer of PRISM. She developed these tools years ago and has refined them throughout her career. Her motto is “Stop Struggling” and she says that there is a way to get all of your work done without being stressed.

She has been teaching the WORK SMART tools all over Greater Cincinnati as well as in other U.S. cities for the past four years. She lives in Northern Kentucky and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. Kim spoke at a MAC luncheon meeting a couple of years ago to raving reviews.

Topic: Turning Yesterday’s Web Traffic into Today’s Customers

Presenter: Eric Zaluski, President at ProspectTrax in Lexington, Ky. ProspectTrax is an marketing automation firm that helps companies build intellegent real-time prospect databases to help increase sales in an organization.

Is your business utilizing 21st century technology to its fullest within the sales process? Have you been able to definitively point to sales generated through new technologies/services available – such as a new website, search engine optimization (SEO), implementation of a customer relationship management system (CRM), etc.? If your answer is no, or if you are unsure – then you are not alone. Many companies have invested thousands of dollars implementing new technology: to find new sales leads; to streamline existing sales processes; or to keep customers informed. However, oftentimes these companies are unable to conclusively justify whether the investment has paid off.

Maximizing new technologies can be very resource-intensive – with manpower and financing. When moving your company marketing plan towards taking advantage of online tools, it is important to break the process into stages. Eric Zaluski will identify a list encompassing six key focus areas. Although this list does not include every form of marketing technology available, for most small/midsized companies it will be a nice starting point.
